They are an extremely powerful dog with built-in protection characteristics hard-wired into their DNA. If you are a burglar thinking of taking one on or someone who is intent on harming the family they are part of, think again!
That said, they can be aggressive around other breeds that they have not been properly socialized with and can be naturally wary of strangers. They are an impressive guard do because of this.
The Anatolian Shepherd has many good qualities, but it’s not the easiest dog to live with. It can be a very loyal pet, if it’s human family understands its qualities and needs are also ready to take on the responsibility of having a big, independent, and very protective dog.
