They can but as with most dogs that have higher intelligence, and Airedales are smart dogs, making sure they are correctly exercised and mentally stimulated is the key to possibly leaving them alone at home.
As most of you know who read my articles regularly, I am not a big fan of leaving my dogs at home alone and much prefer doggy daycare or a pet sitter as this really helps reduce any anxiety that a dog can get from any feelings of abandonment, but each to their own.
